Community Platform

The Community Platform was established as a mechanism to facilitate solidarity amongst organisations in the Community & Voluntary sector that work to address poverty, social exclusion and inequality. The CWC represents the community sector on the Community Platform, as well as acting as secretariat for the Community Platform.

RAPID National Monitoring Committee

RAPID (Revitalising Areas by Planning Investment and Development) is a Government initiative, which targets 45 of the most disadvantaged areas in the country. The Programme aims to ensure that priority attention is given to the 45 designated areas by focusing State resources available under the National Development Plan. The Programme also requires the Government Departments and State Agencies to bring about better co-ordination and closer integration in the delivery of services.The CWC represents the community sector on the RAPID National Monitoring Committee. Comhar, the Sustainable Development Council

Comhar SDC is the key organisation in Ireland providing for sectoral and stakeholder engagement on implementing sustainable development. Its objective is to avise the Minister for the Environement and the governement on issues relating to sustainable development.

The CWC represents the Community & Voluntary Sector on Comhar.

Combined EU Bureau for Social Development

The CWC is the Irish representative of the Combined EU Bureau for Social Development. The CEBSD is a non-governmental European umbrella organisation which brings together a variety of partners from a dozen countries both inside and outside of the European Union. CEBSD members actively promote social and community development. The emphasis is on people working together – collective action which is anti-discriminatory and which seeks to bring about individual and social change.
