Government approaches to tackling poverty are wholly inadequate Figures published by the Central Statistics Office today show that Government approaches to tackling poverty are wholly inadequate. The figures contained in the EU Survey on Income and Living Conditions (EU SICL) show that consistent poverty rates between 2008 and 2009 increased from 4.2% to 5.5%. National Recovery Plan 2011-2014 – CWC reaction
Reacting to the publication of the Government’s four year National Recovery Plan, the Community Workers’ Co-operative criticised the lack of joined-up thinking in the NRP.In particular, the CWC expressed concern at the implications that the plan will have for the most disadvantaged and marginalised individuals and communities.
